This week, we submitted the movie to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA rating) & we'll find out this summer what it is (PG, PG-13, etc.). We have a screening set for July 22. The way it works is they analyze the whole movie (scenes, dialogue, etc.) & decide what audience it suits. They have a very nice office in Sherman Oaks (in the "Valley" area of Los Angeles)*
We have to submit a DVD of the movie just a bit before the screening date. Once we have the rating, we can put it on posters, in movie previews, pretty much everywhere. What's interesting is that without a rating, you can't even show the movie in schools or many public places cause parents want to know what their kids are getting into! i'll keep you posted on progress.
